Mastering Life

Being absent is always a good sign!

Good times seem to continue, and time just seems to fly by...Last week was a short one for me. I joined the other designers at VANS at the Off-Site in downtown LA, NIIICE! Every once in a while the guys and girls leave the office behind to go on an inspirational trip, visiting museums, examining architecture, or watching films on arts and creativity. Good timing again, I happen to be around at a good time, to be able to join the team in such exciting events. We went to the Disney Concert Hall, the MOCA in LA and stayed in "The Standart". What a great place, best Skyline rooftop lounge/club and awesome rooms. It was good to finally spend some time with the whole team and get to know everyone a bit closer. I am becoming a part of it, and I don`t want to seperate all too quickly again...

I don`t want to complain, but the waves have been quite lame lately in Newport Beach. Step it up a bit Mr. Pacific, would you please?! Krystie and I went down to Encinitas yesterday to visit some friends and to get beached there. The sweel was good, around 3-4 foot, and finally some good push for me and my board. Wish it was like that all the time.

The week before was exciting and interesting too, like always. We got to meet Chad, the founder of Malakye at a nice dinner with the BambooSk8 crew. We were invited to come down to Encinitas and celebrate the graduation of Krysties BambooSk8 internship. Our network is growing fast, which makes us confident for the future. You never know who you will meet over here, every day is a great surprise. I hope it will continue like that. Finding friends, getting familiar with the people and culture, and growing our network seem to be the most important challenges at the moment. We will master it, I am very confident!

Peace,
Kev

Product testing, bike riding and lots of fun...

Oh man, it`s been a while...so much happening lately, and I`m just wayyy to lazy to write at all. Weeks are just flying by, but I guess that would be a good sign. Lets see, what has happened since I last wrote?! The best thing that might have happened is the fact that I got to go to Mammoth Lakes to go product testing with the guys and girls at VANS. The next generation of boots is about to be launched for 2011, and all the samples needed to be tested. Great times, Mammoth is amazing, even now they still have a great park going. I also went mountain biking there, in an amazing surrounding, unbelievable! Oh and on Thursday Vans hosted another party. They just released a new book on their company, and that was worth a big party at their headquarters in Cypress. Good food, quite a few pro skaters like Steve Caballero, Omar Hassan and Geoff Rowley to name a few. Also Vans had a van done up by Westcoast Customs, so all those guys were there too. Cool to see those people in real life.

Well, my bike is finished as well, finally we can go on rides and explore what is all around us. So we did yesterday, down to the beach. To celebrate this and also to celebrate Krystie`s new job, yes she got a great job as a Graphic Designer at FOX, we went cruising along the tracks right on the beach and got some nice donuts, yummy! I`m excited, we finally both seem to settle in well, jobs are coming in, we have fun times and enjoy our lives right now.

Tomorrow another exciting week will begin. Exciting because i will start my first project hopefully. I finished my reseach work on Pro-Tec and handed in a 50 page report! Would not have thought to have that much material in the end, I just hope it`s all right as well. I want to design finally! We will see...

Ok... I guess I should finish writing now, the Lakers are in game No. 2 of the finals, and they just started playing. First game was ours already. Go Lakers!!!
