DC Shoes Spring 16 Sales Meeting

A few impressions from the DC sales meeting for Spring 16. They're not always the most 'flashy' projects, but it's time to give the little ones some love too. The Crisis and Crisis High look awesome!

DC Shoes X WuTang

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of both the DC Shoes and WuTang brands, a small collection of apparel and footwear was released as a Limited Edition collaboration. I got lucky and one of my boots got chosen as the footwear piece of the collection, the 'Ranger SE'. I'm honored to see WuTang's name on my design, as those guys have been the sound of my youth, especially the '36 Chambers' album. Product Leak DC Snowboard Boots Travis Rice 2014

Honored to be listed on 'Snowboarder magazine’s 2014 piping hot product picks' post on 'GrindTV', Jan. 30th. Above a great impression from their photo shoot and below the product description from their website. Was quite the process, this boot. I'll post more on this sweet boot in the near future.

'Travis Rice is an insane shredder, literally. Just as he annihilates the alpine Travis destroys the tools of his trade. Knowing this Rice and DC set out to make a signature boot that can stand up to the routine beatings that a rider of his stature subjects his gear to. This is how they arrived at the highly durable substance known as Super Fabric, and unlike Travis’s off-piste passion project, there is nothing natural about this next level material. In addition to the strategic Super Fabric integration, the Travis Rice employs a Boa H3 Coiler Focus Closure System and features a Unilite outsole. Never one to overlook the aesthetic, Travis even teamed up with his friends at Remind Insoles and longtime collaborator Mike Parillo to include custom TR endorsed footbeds with each pair. MSRP $400 Snow.dcshoes.com'

Thanks again for the post, stoked!

Getting Some Blog Love!

I had only just put up some of my work on the Ranger for DC on Coroflot, and Daniel from ConceptKicks found it worthy a post on his site. Thanks man!

Sketch Book Monday 3

I'm not holding true to the Sketch Book part of the post here. This was rather the the final side view for a shoe called the Ranger, which was released by DC Shoes this fall.

Patches Design, Development, Product

A little side project I worked on for DC's Winter '13 Snowboard boot line. Goal was to add some value to a very price challenged boot. I went for patches as a fun and different approach on this model, the 'Scout'. The collage shows the process form early ideation, over line art for the chosen samples to the actual samples and the finished product.
